For my Deep Play group, I read The Game Believes In You by Greg Toppo. I was energized reading about teachers who used technology and specifically games to build confidence, skill and knowledge. I wanted to hear more and more about this! It was fascinating to hear about the use of games to help students with ADHD focus. I did think this could be a separate book. Moving forward, I am taking 15 minutes out of every Monday for my students to play at "problem solving" with on-line games. My goal is for them to take their strategy mindset utilized while they play and apply it to whatever the concept lesson is for the day. The first day my class did this, I explained the thought behind the activity. I told them I wanted them to transfer the way they attacked the puzzles and apply it to the law of sines and cosines. One student told me, " You are very tricky, Mrs. Jennings." :)

As a teacher who prides herself on being somewhat technologically knowledgeable,
the summer MSU experience was an eye-opening journey.
I can state with pride that I am now on Twitter and am being genuine in reflecting
on its usefulness to me and my students. For more on the beginnings of my
technological tinkerings, check out my tinker tale take 1 (August 2015)
